Dan Miller is an American finance and tech CEO living and working in London, United Kingdom.
Dan is presently the Founder and CEO of Steward. Dan is also the Co-Founder of Fundrise and was formerly its President and Director. Dan got his start in his family’s real estate organization based in Washington DC.
Dan Miller is the Founder and CEO of Steward, an online lending platform for regenerative agriculture. Steward combines Dan’s background in finance, real estate, and technology with his passion for agriculture, stemming from his maternal family, which has been farming on the Eastern Shore of Maryland since the 1880s. Through Steward, funders can earn a return while equipping farms and ranches with capital for land, equipment, or operations. Steward has successfully funded over 90 regenerative farms, totaling $30 million in financing.
Dan is the co-founder and former president and director of Fundrise, the first and largest real estate crowdfunding platform in the US, which has raised over $4 billion from 400,000 investors since its inception.
Dan is one-half of Milou Development, a real estate development company that focuses on contextual hospitality projects that will benefit the local communities in which they are located. Forthcoming projects are located in New York and Maryland.
Dan’s experience in real estate began with Western Development Corporation, his family’s Washington D.C.-based real estate organization which is focused on mixed-use development. The company has developed more than 20 million square feet and secured over $3 billion of financing in its fifty-year history.
Dan graduated with a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009, followed by an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010. Dan was born and raised in Georgetown, Washington D.C., and has lived in London, United Kingdom since 2017.
